WELCOME!

New York is a vibrant city. You probably have heard, it never sleeps. And as Frank said again and again: "If you can make it here you can make it anywhere."

It's a concrete jungle where dreams are made. More than 8.5 million people from all over the world call the Big Apple home, and another 60 million or so visit it every year.

That happens for a good reason: no matter what you love or which are your interests – art, food, architecture, photography, shopping, sightseeing, theater, music, romance, adventure, exploration – New York is the place where you can find it all and much more.

It's a new surprise on every corner, every day. It's a dream in every heart. Just have your eyes and sensibility open. In New York you can learn a new thing every single day. In New York you can make your dream come true. So, why not give it a try?

Tours in New York: Under The High Line

One visit to the High Line and you will fall in love forever. A beautiful brilliantly landscaped promenade on an abandoned elevated railway line spans the Meatpacking and Chelsea districts. Walking the High Line is such the experience loved both for tourists and New Yorkers, and you get incomparable views from an unusual vantage point – third-story level.

A Visual Storytelling by Lucas Compan

Brand-new buildings by superstar architects cluster around and above the promenade, while beneath The High Line, you can find garages, warehouses, boarded-up tenements, dive bars, luncheonettes, and trendy restaurants, sharing side streets with chic boutiques, quirky shops, top-chef eateries, and major art galleries.

Architecture

Designed by architect Renzo Piano and situated between the High Line and the Hudson River, the Whitney's new building vastly increases the Museum’s exhibition and programming space, offering the most expansive display ever of its unsurpassed collection of modern and contemporary American art. The design for the new museum emerges equally from a close study of the Whitney’s needs and from a response to this remarkable site. We wanted to draw on its vitality and at the same time enhance its rich character. The first big gesture, then, is the cantilevered entrance, which transforms the area outside the building into a large, sheltered public space. At this gathering place beneath the High Line, visitors will see through the building entrance and the large windows on the west side to the Hudson River beyond. Here, all at once, you have the water, the park, the powerful industrial structures and the exciting mix of people, brought together and focused by this new building and the experience of art.

Art

Gallery-hooping is fun, but outstanding works by international artists are also right out there on the street.

Creativity

Under the High Line, David Byrne blows up the world.

High Line Art presents a wide array of artwork including site-specific commissions, exhibitions, performances, video programs, and a series of billboard interventions. High Line Art invites artists to think of creative ways to engage with the uniqueness of the architecture, history, and design of the High Line and to foster a productive dialogue with the surrounding neighborhood and urban landscape.

Colors

Uplifting Vibrancy

New creations pop up all the time, artistically transforming walls, sidewalks, windows, panels, columns. It's an ever-changing landscape, bringing to the environment under The High Line an exciting and creative atmosphere. That is just what you expect from New York, isn't it?
